Ah, the old flying car - you've probably seen or read about it a million times, in movies and books. We can think of a handful of examples right off the top of our head, and Volkswagen just added one more to the list. Earlier this year, the company challenged drivers in China to come up with a car of the future - one that would be well-suited to a busy urban setting, and would be...

A couple weeks ago, we told you a little bit about the Passat's success story and the impact it has had on the Volkswagen brand as a whole. Now we'd like to share some numbers with you that support this theory. To start with, Volkswagen sales jumped 34.6 percent in March in the United States, no doubt in thanks to models like the impressively redesigned Volkswagen Passat and stylish VW Jetta. But...

The American-built Volkswagen Passat is a success story of epic proportions. First, Volkswagen redesigned the Passat with American drivers in mind. Then, they moved production to Chattanooga, Tennessee. Then, they put a kid in a Darth Vader costume to advertise the futuristic styling and power of the new Passat. As if that wasn't enough, among the many awards piled onto the sedan, the 2012 Passat is the Motor Trend Car of the Year.

But here's where the story gets really cool...

While we usually look to the SEMA Show in Vegas every fall to see some of our favorite cars get the aftermarket parts treatment, Volkswagen arrived at the 2012 Geneva Motor show with four super-fun concept cars that they're calling 'Up!'

The cars, the Swiss Up!, Winter Up!, X Up! and Cargo Up!, likely aren't heading for the production line, but they're an interesting look at all of the ways Volkswagen has...

We're starting to feel a bit like a broken record here. Because, yes, the 2012 Volkswagen Passat has won yet another award. Not that we're surprised - we love the all-new Passat. And as it turns out, so does everybody else.

It's earned a Five-Star Safety Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it's an IIHS Top Safety Pick, it topped Cars.com's "Best of 2012" list, and as if...

The first 2012 Volkswagen Passat was produced at the Volkswagen Chattanooga, TN plant in April of 2011 and in May VW officially started mass production of their vehicles. Volkswagen celebrating the creation of their 50,000th vehicle built is an impressive accomplishment. The Passat was named as the "2012 Car of the Year ®" by Motor Trend and a "Top Safety Pick" by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

So how does Volkswagen follow up that kind of smash hit? That's the question everyone was asking, including us here at…

Every car buyer who cares about auto safety has heard about the National Highway and Safety Administration (NHTSA). Every year, they test new model-year vehicles on how well they protect drivers and passengers in the event of a crash. In 2011, the test got harder yet with the addition of a new side-pole test. Still, though, the Volkswagen Passat pulled through with an A+ overall rating. In NHTSA terms that as a composite score of…
