The first 2012 Volkswagen Passat was produced at the Volkswagen Chattanooga, TN plant in April of 2011 and in May VW officially started mass production of their vehicles. Volkswagen celebrating the creation of their 50,000th vehicle built is an impressive accomplishment. The Passat was named as the "2012 Car of the Year ®" by Motor Trend and a "Top Safety Pick" by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
Fletcher Jones Volkswagen is very proud of VW's production accomplishments, and it shows how much the demand for the German automaker's mid-size sedan has grown.
The 50,000th Volkswagen
Passat off the line was a fully-loaded, white, 2.5-liter, SE trim model. Volkswagen has even promised to add an extra 200 jobs to the plant's workforce in order
to keep up with demand which is very exciting news for Chattanooga.
