40/20/40-split folding rear seats - normally, rear seats fold down in a 60/40 split. But not in the Tiguan. Instead, we gave it a 40/20/40 split for maximum flexibility and cargo space. So you can fold one seat back up to allow someone to sit there. Or you can fold them both back up and leave the middle folded down
