The All New 2011 Volkswagen CC| Chicago, IL

How Volkswagen does refinement.
The shockingly beautiful sedan that demands a closer look.

The 2011 Volkswagen CC (short for Comfort Coupe) attempts to blur the line between coupe and sedan by fitting four doors under the sweeping arc of a coupe-like roof line, an attempt to deliver the comfort and convenience of a sedan along with the evocative styling of a sporty coupe. The 2011 Volkswagen CC has succeeded.

Introduction:

The 2011 Volkswagen CC owes much to the Passat sedan, because it shares a fair number of chassis and drivetrain components. The CC is slightly longer and wider than the Passat, and also sits about an inch lower. Interior styling is by and large the same as the Passat as well.

The 2011 Volkswagen CC comes in three unique trim levels:

Sport - The Sport model comes with a 2.0L, 200-hp TSI engine, a Sporty suspension and either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed DSG® automatic transmission with Tiptronic® and Sport mode. Other features include: Touchscreen Premium VIII sound system, SIRIUS® Satellite Radio with 3-month trial subscription, & Media Device Interface (MDI) with iPod® cable.

Lux - The Lux model comes with a 2.0L TSI, 16-valve, DOHC, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 200 hp and a 6-speed DSG® automatic transmission with Tiptronic and Sport mode. Other features include: Climatronic® dual-zone electronic climate control with pollen filter, RNS 315 navigation system, & Full-brushed aluminum interior trim.

VR6 4MOTION Executive - the Executive model comes with a 3.6L, 24-valve engine with FSI direct injection, offering 280 hp and 265 lbs/ft torque. The Exectuive model offers a 6-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic and Sport mode with Tiptronic paddle shifters on the steering wheel. Other features include: 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system, Park Distance Control (PDC) system, with front and rear proximity sensors, & Dynaudio® premium sound system.

Interior/Exterior Highlights:

RNS 510 touchscreen navigation (optional) - the state-of-the-art touchscreen entertainment and navigation system is incredibly easy to use. Not only does it come with a three-month trial subscription to SIRIUS® Satellite Radio, but it's also great at playing music you own. Whether it's on your MP3 player or any of the six CDs you can choose from in the in-dash six-CD changer, your favorites are just a click away. You even get the MDI with iPod® cable that lets you easily navigate your playlists, albums, and songs all through the intuitive touchscreen interface. So if you're prone to getting lost, don't worry. Simply program your home address into the system and you'll always find your way home.

Multi-function steering wheel - go ahead, grip the multi-function steering wheel. Marvel at its soft leather wrapping and functional design. Doesn't that feel nice? This steering wheel comes with integrated controls for easy access to the entertainment system and to information such as average trip speed and miles to empty. It's your connection to the road, your car, and so much more.

Coupe styling - VW made the CC gorgeous so you'd covet it before you ever sat inside. Because they thought that a car we affectionately refer to as the Comfort Coupe (thanks to its luxurious interior and gently sloping roof) should live up to both its names.

Rearview camera (optional)
- you might not notice it at first, but VW hid a tiny but powerful rearview camera underneath the badge on the back of the car. And by hidden, we mean integrated it right into the badge. Even though you'll be too busy driving to actually see it, that optional rearview camera will probably become one of your favorite features.

Safety Highlights:

Intelligent Crash Response System - after the airbags have been deployed in a collision, the Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS) automatically unlocks all doors, turns off power to the fuel pump, and turns on the hazard lights. That's why they call it intelligent. Because it's looking out for you when you need it most.

Crash-optimized front end - integrated right into the front structure of your CC are impact-absorbing elements that allow for compression during a collision. That means the energy from the impact is absorbed by the car, which helps minimize the amount of energy that reaches you.

Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) - ASR helps prevent the wheels on your CC from spinning when you accelerate by denying engine power in situations when it senses your wheels slipping. ASR works in conjunction with the Anti-lock Braking System to help maintain traction and control whenever you accelerate or brake, in almost every type of road conditions.
